I did it on my 928 and the hardest part is taking the teardrops apart to paint them. The internal spring is very strong and a bugger to compress./ Taking off the car wiring and putting back on were a doddle, other than lining up the rubber gasket. The mirror footprint wasnt too different in the end so I didnt paint the car just t cut a bit and polished and really youd have to look very closely to notice. Good luck

Thanks for that great link, have been wanting to update my 'Flags' too.
One thing, in the photo caption showing the exposed wires, it says something like 'match up wire colours as indicated on page 68'...err, what page 68? and so what colours should be matched to what?
Any help greatly appreciated.

Ah, this was an exerpt from Porsche and 911 world and I no longer have the back issue gave it away with the car. When I did my wiring I used an article on rennlist but that was for the 928 (can send you a link if its a 928 you are looking at, may be worth doing a search on rennlist for mirror wiring in the 964 section.
