Fuel Pumps

As a matter of interest, for those of us sucking from both tanks and running carbs, is there some reason not to run the mechanical fuel pump, they run at around 6lbs pressure and flow around 110gph?

If you are sucking from both tanks at the same time then there is no reason not to run a mechanical pump. The standard twin electric pumps just allow you to switch tanks and helps if one pump fails.
