Okay, took her out for a hoon earlier today, not that long or far, but a fair time/distance, let her warm up gradually, then gave her some occasional beans when the road allowed.

Temperature outside probably around 25.

When I got home, I had the 'fun' smell, and the heat at the back of the car, all normal, however, I nipped out to the garage and the boot lid is still pretty warm, 3 or 4 hours later - it is cooler, but still has a fair bit of temperature, even though she went straight into the garage afterwards, and hasnt been sat in the sun or anything.

Is this normal? I would've expected it to cool much faster than this? any reason it wouldnt? (e.g. ambient air temperature/being in a closed garage?)

Sounds like a classic case of noly kingjo corrosion, be prepared to have to fork out for a complete engine rebuild. These syptoms often occur when the driver has been driving round all afternoon flirting with blond mx5 drivers(female hopefully).

Has the cat been sleping on it?

No problem, dark coloured car water cooled with no air circulation...sounds fine.

Heat soak, you mentioned going back out to the garage so maybe leave it outside for a while if possible next time, or just forget it
