Read a few reports etc and the one question that comes to mind is why do they use a Metro subframe rather than a mini one.
It's amazing what you think about while feeding the bairn or painting the wall or standing around at work waiting for customers. (Not at the same time I hasten to add).

I guess this is mostly cos the Metro 'frame has a wider track and the design generally helps accommodate the extra width incurred by sticking the gearbox on the end of the engine rather than underneath it? (Maybe note that if you use a metro width frame on the front you should increase the width on the rear. Easiest way is to just use massive spacers & wheel studs on the standard rear subframe setup, but you'll certainly knock out rear wheel bearings quicker than usual, but what the heck, they're quite cheap anyway)

Just thought the mini frame would fit direct to a mini body whereas a metro frame wouldn't, but can see the obvious extra space within the frame would come in handy.
thereagain, if you are modding the frame.......

It is to do with the steering rack and the diff being too close together, you can fit it in a mini frame but is a lot of work and there are some custom frames out there, but £50 get you a metro frame and the vtec fit in easily....
