Hi Thunderballers and Dragster Fanz !
Since I got no personal "results" to post,
and do not want to disturb the "PHers @ work" thread:
Here is the place for trivia, news & gossip around
the 07 edition of the Easter Thunderball.

My biggest news : I was one of the "guinea-Pigs" (THANKS bowTOG!)
for the "Nitro FM" radio live web broadcast,
so I had the great pleasure to:
read Tog´s live race report, see the eurodragster webcam,
and listen to Graham & John right in my living room....cloud9
OK, being there cannot be beaten, but I will do this for the FIA/UEM rounds.
The radio worked fine, and a lot of engine noise came through to the bridge...
There is more to come on this , watch the news @ eurodragster .

Here is a selection of what I got to hear:
"It will not rain up to the 5th of november!" ,
when referring t the splendid weather that you could enjoy.
"Spencer Tramm never was much of a great reactor" ,
when the Corrado left a little too late and lost the race.
"Looking from back here, I can see through the car right to the rollcage!",
when Urs blew the blower & engine badly in the final-run.
"At least the car exploded in the sponsor´s colors!" after the same run.
And right before the trophy ceremony,
when John was encouraged from the audience to agitate them a little more:
"Yvonne Tramm, you´re telling me how to do my job?"

But it really is hard work shout track announcing,
(I can tell from my own experience) .
Everything is live, no rehearsal, anything can happen,
and they have to talk to an audience
that is both "know-it-all" hardcore race fans
and also complete newbies on the banking/grandstand.
Up to 12 hours a day, blablaalmost non-stop.
And Graham & John are knowing so much more than what is displayed on their screens,
not only because they do it for such a long time,
but also because they truly love & respect dragracing & the dragracers,
and try to do their job as good as every race team member & the track crew.
So be kind to them if they get nutscarried awaysilly sometimes in excitement...

So bring on May, I can hardly wait for the Main Event !
Cheers,
Benni

I tell you, i banged my head on my mother back when she did that... *sigh* She has no shame! ground..open up and swallow me now!

Spencer had been up and down all weekend with his reactions. But i don't think he is known for being crap on the lights... It was probably the cake i tell thee!

Good to hear you heard it all loud and clear Benni. Nothing beats the real thing however. If they could pipe nitro down the modem wire....we'd have it made
