Folks,

Washed car y'day, but did not want to apply too much elbow grease until I got your expereince on the following:

At first glance car now loks clean. However, when looking closer as only a cleaner would do, there are minute black spots ( must be dirt, or tar when I drove through a re-surfacing stretch). What is the kindest and most effective removal means please?

Which product name to use please?

Btw is mutton cloth the same as Micor cloth please?

Thx.

Never heard of Mutton Cloth confused don't risk it, just use a Microfibre.

I would personally use Clay followed by HD Cleanse or Meguiars Paint Cleaner before your Wax. Claying should definately remove most of the stubborn tar spots.

HD Cleanse is a paint cleaner/preparation treatment from Zymol, also very easy to use. Try google for your nearest stockist. The Meguiars is a similar product which is sold at most larger Halfords or good car care suppliers.

Zymol - www.zdouk.com/Store/Product/ProductDetails.aspx?ProductId=119

Meguairs - www.theultimatefinish.co.uk/Store/Product/Meguiars.aspx?ProductId=300

HTH.

Meths/Lighter fuel/Turps will remove stubborn tar spots far faster than any branded tar removers. Just make sure you re protect the areas you have used it on

Dab some margarine on the tar spot, leave a few mins and wipe off, tar comes off.
