Hi all after mand one. Thuch mooching around on various forums I have finally decided to take the plunge and am seeking out the right car for me. Have been torn between a 996 c4s and a 996tt but now a new car is in my sights. Thats right a 996gt3 mII. What should i be looking for on one of these. car I have so many questions. Is there a good source for general FAQs?

Do the gt3 suffer from the rms issues of other 996s? I know history and warranty are important and will not purcharse without them.

What should I realistically pay for a MII low milage car? Is a cage a must? I plan to use the car as often as possible as a daily commuter. What other issues should I be looking out for?

Any and all help appreciated

there are two types of MkII GT3, clubsport and comfort. Dependant upon what you want to use the car for will largely decide your buying decision.

The clubsport is a track focused car, rear cage, electrical cut out, nomex buckets. the comfort is what is says on the tin.(if you can describe a comfort as comfortable....)

the 'three is fited with the gt1 engine block and as such RMS issues are very rare, if non existant. The cars themselves are very robust, but if you are looking for a car make sure the servicable items are in good order. Tracking a car can very quickly wear out the brakes and tyres.

Good luck in your search.

What's your daily commute like? Personally I don't relish driving the 3 in heavy traffic or frequently over speed bumps/crappy roads.
