Whats a Ruf Cab BTR worth ?
Discussion
ROUGH is certainly the word.
With a lot of TLC it would be a beatiful car again. What condition are the mechanicals in? that would probably concern me the most. As to price I have not got a clue. Can only be worth what you are willing to pay for it, is there a number in mind?. £10K or under ?

This is a 40,000km car.
Well over £110k new
89 on the G
Drove into the garage.
Door close perfectly.
All the Ruf history.
BTW, massive intercooler.
Ruf gauges, mirrors wheels etc.
Heres the bit Im concerned about.
Been converted from LHD.
At the time, pre conversion, the owner said the car was worth about £30k, and was convinced it would be worth £50k done.
Yeah, yup, a huh, sure.
I was thinking in betweeen 15 and 20 as it is.
Forget the steering wheel, and the bodyshop dust, the cosmetics are virtually done
Its all there.

The car in the classifieds looks very nice.
I would guess the cabriolet would be worth around £32k if it was perfect. Problem is it may cost £20k + to get it that way. Colour not to everyones liking either.

The owner of the btr flatnose in the classifieds is dreaming if he thinks it is 485bhp...
I think the cabriolet is worth around £17.5k.

Thats what I saw it at.
Im not 100%, but there is some tie in to the Viper ownershipwise.
As far as 20K to put it straight, where dya get that figure from ?
More like 2.5 grand tops.
left to right conversion not a problem if done properly. Get that inspected by
someone who knows what they are looking at. If you are familiar with what the 3.2 shells look like under the bonnet then you will see the oval lid that covers the steering shaft. From the pics the whole car looks like it needs painting plus lenses and bits and pieces. A thorough service to recommision her and a set of tyres to be safe.
My guess would be closer to £10K to get her up an running nice again. Just get someone to inspect if first, work out the costs and buy the car at the right price. Piece of cake really, but thats thinking with the head and then the heart gets envolved and screws it all up normally

I got the 20k figure from a previous bad experience of owning an old heavily modded 911. Don't flame me as I am not a mechanic but my old car required a full engine rebuild (seals leaking oil, bent valve, no pressure in one of the cylinders etc) add that to damaged heat exchanger, exchange hybrid turbo and full repaint and I was looking at £12k + and my car wasn't a RUF.
