I am now 3 months into Porsche ownership and wow, what a car!

Positives:
- engine note. OMG - it's music
- looks. Especially from the rear.
- handling. It's 13 years old and handles better than my 4 year old M3 ever did
- character. Puts a smile on my face every time I drive it.
- Toyo tyres. I am so impressed by these.

Negatives
- turning circle. Bigger than a trident's
- lack of low-down power. Would be interesting to try a varioram. But 996tt I think next

Here it is after a bit of tlc earlier today.

Very nice, too! No question - the 993 is a lovely shape! Well done on keeping it in such nice condition.

Looks good thumbup

Iris Blue really suits the shape of the 993. I think the Sports Classic wheels help too. Very nice.

(Glad to know it's not just me that thinks the 993's turning circle is a joke biglaugh )

Glad you mentioned the turning circle - thought it was me when I first got it.

You soon adjust though, and better planning leads to less of those embarrasing excuse me while I reverse a bit moments :-)

stamp on the loud pedal with the stearing cocked over, that tends to sort out tight turns

What a beauty...makes me miss my old 993-there is no car that feels quite like them is there!

how did you get your 993 looking so spick and span, the paintwork is amazing considering its 13 years old, i tried to wash and polish my saab today and yours looks 10 times better!

Wot he said - Fab car - All it needs is a couple of turbos

If there is a criticism it would be from the photographers amongst us. Next time move it across a metre and take the drain out of the shot....

That looks great! I've never seen a 993 in that colour - similar to my zenith blue, but much better!
Agree about the photo critique! Also, crouch down a little and get the shot from a lower angle!

Thanks for the comments and the photo critique! It's only the 3rd time it's been washed and the 1st time I'd ever waxed it. I use Meguiars Gold Class, which is ok. I'll try some Zymol some other time to see what the fuss is about. The paint's in good condition, though there are some swirls and minor scratches which I reckon could be done by a detailer.

Re the pics: I was in a rush, but managed to get a further 2 in before time was called (irate missus in background)!
