After taking my car to North Wales at the weekend for a spirited days driving I appear to have picked up a bit of wobble from the steering wheel. Seems to happen around 40 mph and then goes a bit then reappears in the high 80's.

I am guessing I've lost a weight off of one of the front wheels.
Just wondered if anyone else had any thoughts.

Not much to say other than take it to a garage and get them balanced. If it's not that, my next guess would be could you have buckled a wheel? The chap balancing them will also spot that if that's the case.

check the following

1 ) wheel nuts are tight
2 ) possible flat spot on tyre
3 ) As said before and the most likely a wheel weight ( use some foil stickey tape to hold them on with, its usally the heat that makes the foam backing melt and the weight falls off...dont use gaffa tape or any thing else other than metal foil tape.

Went in this morning for all 4 wheels to be balanced.
Apparently the weights were all over the place and a fair bit out. Certainly drives a LOT better now
Jeffreys High Performance Tyres in Warrington did a cracking job and run a very professional outfit thumbup will certainly be talking to them when I need new tyres. Good coffee too just lacking the fit receptionist.
