I have to take issue with the safety thing. The way I see it is the tt FEELS safe, right up to the point where it eventually lets go at some ridiculous speed you can't recover from. You never FEEL safe in the GT2, which makes you drive differently - hopefully. So the GT2 is acually safer. However, drive one like a tt and the hedge bottom/lamp post/oncoming traffic are not far away.
I've had both (still got a GT2) and I wouldn't want a GT2 for my only/every day car. But I had a tt for a 'fine day' car and that didn't work either...just too regular-car-like.
