993 panels...hard to get?

Mate of mine pranged his 993 in late jan,still waiting for the repairer to obtain a new door,porsche say its on back order...with no sign of imminent arrival !
Does this mean a lengthy wait if you want panels and should it make us all think of a long time off road if we are unlucky enough to have an accident?
There used to be a 10 year parts availability cut off from suppliers ,does this still apply ?

Considering I can still buy gearbox dogs for (example) 3rd gear on my 1988 car I'd say you need to chat to an Official Porsche Centre and get the story from the Horses Mouth.

IIRC all 911 doors are the same up till the 996.
