Hubs

Right...I want a new set of wheels but don't want to be royally shagged (fiscally) in the process...so I was thinking about changing the hubs to 5 bolt pattern.

So the question is...are they Mondeo or Granada hubs, and how much are they at a Ford dealers?

Could save you a lot of time here, the late five stud Mondeo hubs will fit,From memory they were about £650 a set from your Ford dealer and they come with the bearings. I didnt go this way because Oz still wouldnt do the right dimensions in the Ultraleggera.

Really??? Thats the reason we're thinking of changing hubs. Figured that new hubs at 700 plus Ultraleggeras at 170 each would still be far cheaper than 3k for the RMS set or dymag jobbies.


Thats a blow. I assumed that with a 5 studder, the world would be our oyster.

Dear All,
Its not just the 5 bolt or not. The position of the brake caliper in relation to the effective centre of the hub bearing makes the dimensions and clearances difficult to satisfy in 4 or 5 bolt patterns. Even if you change to 5 bolt pattern you still haev a relatively limited choice.

These are wide wheels with the brake calipers about as close to the outer face of the rim as anyone dares to get them.
