I just want to know what craziest engine anyone has seen in a mini. My favourite was a clubman with a 170bhp 1.6 Civic Vtec in it. I'm sure there's much better out there, but that was the first one off the top of my head!

saw a twin yamaha engined beast at trowell services 2 weeks ago - 320 BHP at the rear wheels - it's on the front of last months mini world.

It'll do 140mph

with ease!

With the Weber throttle bodies and the DTA management system and a few other bits and bobs I am expecting 240 at the crank...

1.8 VTEC

Has to be the space frame mini pickup with the huge V8 in the back, apparently it would stay with a Mclaren F1 till 120mph

Anyone remember that Moggy from years back that was quicker than an F40?

Biturbo V8 in that...

The (FWD) Rover V8 engined mini impressed me. A Princess gearbox was adapted to fit under the lump, but space was mighty tight.

I remember that pick-up, it was awesome. It's not just the power of some of them, it's the engineering that's gone into installing them that impresses me. Bet a 320bhp RWD mini would put a smile on your face!

There was one in our club that had a 2.9 V6 ford lump with xr4x4 drive train, I always fancied putting a cossie lump and rwd in a clubman.

Theres a chap in Germany with a van and a pickup. They both have VTEC engines and the pick up has 4WD.

He reckons that in the wet the pickup is quicker than the M5 taxi! Class.
