whats it worth ?
Discussion
mornin'
just wondering how much you think the gemballa gt coupe spoiler is worth?
previous owner said it cost £4500.00 new and its the full le mans version inc ram air scoops at either side.
I had to pay £500.00 to have it taken apart and the third light fitted propperly and wired up correct, this was done by www.911sport.co.uk
ideally I would like to get at least 500 back for it, or do you guys think it is worth more?
and here it is on the car before I removed it.
edited to add it fits all 996 faclift and non facelift cars.

I'd say it's worth more than 500 quid. Ebay maybe? With a reserve of 600 or so? Maybe a little bit more? For a Gemballa item, I think it looks very snazzy. Not a chandelier or a pole dancer in sight; which is nice. It looks a little reminiscent of the upsoming 997 GT2 spoiler which can only help things. What would it cost to strip the paint from it, I wonder... If I came across it with a view to buy, looking at it in it's blue, I know I'd be heaving a sigh and thinking - wrong colour, strip, re-paint and fit = xxx pounds. Whereas if it was sitting there in primer, I'd be feeling a bit more excited imagining it in a nice colour/fitted to my car. Or is that just bollox? I'm not sure.

To be honest - Unless you have the rest of the kit, side skirts, front spoiler etc, - I think it looks at best - Out of proportion IMO. A bit like the hooped spoiler that was on the Alfa 156 when it was initialy released.
unlike the "everyone has a gt3 spoiler" the gemballa GT Coupe didnt have any other kit, just the spoiler and the rest of it was engine mods/suspension and alloys, was probbably one of the few gemballa mods that didnt look like a max power tuners car.
and to be fair, one of my chums in florida has the same spoiler but with the gt3 side skirts and it looks aweful, the clean lines of the 911 without skirt kit look much much better IMHO.

its all possible, just need to find out how much it would cost, i dont touch my cars or bikes as i have a clear history of outstanding failiure whenever I have tried to do anything to any of the cars/bike ive had.
including the petrol remote controlled car and the minimoto that I destroyed and had to hand to other people in bits to get the job done right, so since then, ive not bothered trying to do anything to any of my vehicles, im a proven numpty when it comes to these things, I just stick to cleaning them.
