Jeez. Poor old harveyn. He turned up a real shitheel, there. Hope it doesn't spoil the car for him. But at least he got his car - after the first few posts I started to feel as though he mightn't get one at all.

Good example of how NOT to do things.

Unbelievable stupidity. There's one born every day.
I run a foreign exchange company and we still get people calling us saying they've won the Spanish lottery (even though they never entered) and can we transfer the money back from Spain (after we've sent some money for costs of course).

What if Harvey starts posting on here? Will we all have to pretend we don't know what happened?

DON'T MENTION THE PURCHASE

I mentioned it once, but I think I got away with it

I can't see the photos - but what is a 993Cs? Presumably it's a C2S?

The vendor was correct in holding the car re the 'plate and played a blinder on the increase in price. I can't see how Harvey will get his money back though unless he worded any covering letter very cleverly...

The contractual price was agreed, then the seller increased the price, AFTER an agreement was reached. Typical conman. District Judges hate people like the potential Defendant in this case. All the HarveyN chap has to do is tell the truth, and I think he will be able to recover the excess back through the Court.

IMO the only way the buyer could have protected himself in this case was to use an escrow / solicitor to hold the funds until the car (and all keys and SH) were handed over.

People have bought cars off me the same way using chaps, but I don't know if I ever would, especially for such a large sum.

The seller was a ****!(sorry but he is) Id have taken physical action let alone legal action.

Harvey was a bit of an idiot in this deal though.
