Using a gloriously over the top yellow Boxter S for a couple of days, courtesy of Sheffield OPC while they do a 48k service on my 996. Great fun to play with, but not sure whether to be a Toni or a Guy for the duration.
Personally I lean towards being Toni, since I confidently expect to be well screwed when its time to shell out for the service.

Which brings me to the real point of contacting all you experts out there. OPC wants to replace RMS AGAIN (3rd time in 16 months!). Warranted so no sweat with me, but is it remotely possible that OPC's make money on this kind of work? Are they perhaps egging it on a bit - y'know, just to pad out a bit of spare capacity?
Had the usual ritual dance over the phone this afternoon about knackered brake discs/pads, the old-wont-last-till-next-service routine so everything is just about down the line so far.
New service front man seems helpful, so you're reading this Andy, keep up the good work, and remember - no joyriding in my car please - I noted the mileage.
cheers all.

have had 2 996TTs into Sheffield over the past 2mths for pre-warranty inspection. 1 failed twice, the other sailed through with no faults found.

the dealer I bought through reckoned that Sheffield had been a bit naughty with them in the past regarding work needing doing, but that might have just been the dealer priming me up. put it this way, it wouldn't surprise me to hear of OPCs drumming up business in the way you've described.
