(Why go for a slow TVR
).Speaking from experience are we
I have driven a Cerbera, on private land of course. But aint driven a Tuscan. Im just going on performance figures.
Ps. It was only a joke didnt mean to cause any offence to anyone.
Non taken mate,
I would actually advise a Chim too but if you are dead set then it is your choice and no-one elses.
From what I can tell, each has its attractions, just gotta decide which is more suited to your needs. Definitely advise taking each for a test drive if you can though....I've not driven a Cerb but I have owned a Chimaera and now a Tuscan. For all out driving intensity (when you want it), the Tuscan blows me away every time I drive it. The fact that I can decide whether to have the roof on or off means a lot to me too and I fell in love with the styling. I didn't feel the same about the Cerbera design although I will say that the interiors always look really smooth and impressive.
If you do veer towards a Chim, go for as late an example as you can afford. Maybe a 500 which has been well looked after and has had the odd upgrade or two (nitrons for example) and go from there. You "might" not be so concerned about rolling costs with the RV8 as you would with the SP6 and AJP....
As I said, if you are dead-set then my vote goes to the Tuscan, of course...

2 years ago I had the same question.
Having test drove both Cerbera and Tuscan there was very little between them in the end I chose the tuscan because I believe it is better looking and the fact you can take the roof of and put the rear screen in the boot was an added bonus, and don't listen to the moaners If you get a good speed six engine believe me they are awesome (get cabon can company exhausts fitted £300). Also the running costs of a cerbera can be frightning and some parts are getting more difficult to source it's been a few years now since the Cerb was last in production whare as the SP6 Tuscan engine was available up until the factory closed.
One thing I can say both cars if well sorted are awsome I just thought the Tuscan was more modern.

Cerb - Brilliant, fast, looks great. Costs alot to keep on top of!
Tuscan - Even better (IMO), Pretty much the same performance, newer more 'in your face' looks. But te engine, if it's had a rebuild and has warranty, your safe i'd say
All in all both brill' cars! But my choice is the Tusc'. Sorry Cerb' boyos!!

Cheers everyone i'm setting up a test drive of a cerb speed six after talking to a guy at a Tvr dealer, He said that he prefered the 4.0 S6 to the 4.5, Opinions?
I don't like the looks of the Chim inside or out (no offence) which is why i was leaning towards Cerb or Tusc. The interior of the Cerbs is just awesome but i do like the cabrio/looks of the Tusc hence my problem.
Not a bad problem to have though

Before any cynics leap in that a dealer would say that to unload the "least desirable Cerbera" (on account of the great Speed Six debacle), give it some serious thought because until the Sagaris, the S6 Cerbera was the closest thing to an everyday car that TVR has produced. Speed Six Cerberas book at less than the V8s but they are nicer to drive and in the real world you won't notice the performance shortfall compared with the V8s. An S6 Cerbera is a very rapid car. For some peculiar reason, the S6 engine has its best exhaust note in the Cerbera - it sounds more sophisticated somehow, maybe a function of its length.
The Tuscan has a Speed Six engine whether you like it or not so on that basis a Speed Six Cerbera has to be a contender.

He did say that when mentioning the car earlier, good to get it confrimed. I'm gonna drive it and will hopefully get a good feel what its like then the Tuscan and then its decision time, can't wait!!
