The Gadget Show - 400D vs D80 comparison

What a stupid idea and it was hardly a comparison test! Total waste of time.

For people who didn't watch it (Lucky You!!!), they were given the challenge to take a picture that matched as closely as possible to the subject icons on their cameras using the same mode, e.g. tulip for the macro mode, running man for the sport mode, etc. And the camera (or the phographer) who could take the most identical images would win.

Everyone knows the only way to test a camera is to take a photo of

1.) Your PC keyboard
2.) Your hand
3.) The light fixture on the ceiling
4.) The view from the window
5.) Your other half hiding behind her hand and shouting at you to stop.

On the plus side, we got to look at Suzi Perry for 45 mins or so! Gadget show reviews are usually quite decent so I was a bit surprised at this comparison.

I wondered what the test was - I flicked over and saw them driving around then putting a couple of pics up with "Nikon" or "Canon" but then switched back (or more to the point, the wife did) to the other channel. Couldn't tell what they were comparing. Glad I missed it now
