Where to get parts for Service on a 9-5??
Discussion
I don't know if there is a haynes or similar for the 95? What you need really is the service schedule for your car - I'd recommend posting a question on SaabCentral www.saabcentral.com/ and asking if anyone can post you one?
As mentioned by others, I echo the the big service ideally be done by an experienced Saab tech....not sure does the big service require any Tech2 input..??
However, at the very least as others have said, you'll need to get hold of the service schedule to make a list of the bits needed.

Saab 9-5 service intervals on my 2000 MY car are 6K then every 12K, at 66K its the belt change service and it can hit the wallet quite hard, interestingly though my 126K service was a lot cheaper.
Access to a Tech-2 is certainly recommended also there are a couple of other things you should know:-
1) Saab offer parts and labour discount on cars over 4 years old, this increases to 20% on cars over 5 years old, so sometimes an authorised service agent is as cheap as an independent!
2) The non-Aero cars have a habit of oil sludging, fully synthetic is now recommended to overcome this, as are regular oil changes. If you are unsure of the history then get the sump dropped and checked/cleaned out. Saab are offering some kind of extended warranty for cars that are affected by this (engine seized etc), though you may have to approach Saab directly to ensure you get it done for free - they want to see a continuous stamped up service history. There is talk on Saab forums of 8 year engine warranty. If you do the oil change yourself don't skimp on the type of oil used!
My MY2000 9-5 2.3LPT is just coming up to 150K, always been dealer serviced and has been one of the most reliable cars that I've owned. Still on original Turbo, suspension, etc.

Yes my local main dealer are fairly cost effective on my MY98 car as long as you don't let them go and replace 1/2 the car. I am on 140K miles and the front bushes and struts have been done at least once, the rear shocks at least twice, and the rear hub bushes twice in the past 30K miles (including one set of trailing arm bushes). The rear suspension on the 9-5 is a shambles. The chief mechanic at my local main dealers reckons on rear hub bushes needing replacement as much as every 2 years in many cases. Easilly the poorest car I have the misfortune to own in terms of cost/hassle and wear rate for suspension components.
My 150k service done at 148.5k was £215 inc VAT
When I say original suspension I have had the trailing arm bushes done at 114k, but thats it, still original springs, shocks, any other bushes, etc.
I'm the second owner (ex dealer demo) and the car does a lot of long journeys, very rarely gets used for a quick trip to the shops.
Touching a lot of wood, one of the best cars I've owned and the service costs between 100k miles and 150k miles have been very reasonable.
4 x Service - Total £1,100
1 x Trailing Arm Bushes £300
1 x Turbo Vacuum Hose £45
1 x Crank Position Sensor £122
1 x Battery £75
8 x Tyres £600
Total Maintenance Costs £2242, which for Joe Average on 12k miles a year works out at about £560 a year! (I've done 50k in 20 months!) and it shouldn't need another service/dealer visit until 160k miles, though it does need two more front tyres shortly.

Good luck over the next miles then. Mine has cost me in excess of £3K in repairs/servicing for so far about 20K miles, and none of this has been on non-wear & tear items. The turbo is starting to leak (oil stains buildup around throttle body) so I haven't seen the end of it yet. One of my mates has a 9-5 that until recently cost him very little over 3 years. In the last month he has spent more then a grand to fix a gearbox problem and still has worn out suspension and brakes that will need replacing soon.
Yes the car is very reliable but its not much consolation if its made from such poor quality components that the thing constantly has a part on the way out.
