Our boxster soft top has a crack in the window and needs replaced. I got a quote from OPC around the £550 mark. Is that a fair price? I am based in West London if anyone knows where I can get theis done cheaper.

Hi
If you look on EBAY under Porsche spares you should find companies that do it for about £300 or Car hood company do one with a glass window conversion for £800,saves keep getting out the car to do the boxster chop

Hi Neil,
Sorry to hear that.
I cannot actually offer any advice myself but have you tried searching http://boxa.net/. This has been discussed on there loads of times and I am sure the very helpful people on there can offer advice.

Best of luck.

On the subject of soft tops, does anyone with a cabriolet whose clear PVC rear window transparency (NOT glass) is suffering from "yellowing" or scratches want to buy the Porsche treatment for clearing up these problems ?. The kit part number is 999.999.901.40 and I have one that for a tenner plus postage (say £12.00 in total ) or collect from Harpenden, Herts. For more infor. either ring 01582 467263 or email marlin@spugs.fsnet.co.uk. It really does work and transforms faded, scratched and opaque rear PVC transparencies into crystal clearness !

Best thing to do is get BAS to supply and fit the glass roof like I've had fitted to mine (£695 all in):

Fit and finish is superb, easily up to factory standard. No more 'Boxster chop', crystal clear rear visibility, heated window. Jobs a good'un!

More info here if needed:
