Kleonard,

Its mine now - Ive sold my 356 Porsche as I never used it and have secretly
looking for a good GT2
this particular car was kept in a collecting in Northern Ireland and was in a stable with
some other very nice cars
Its just done 5000 miles has a full OPC history with Aberdeen and was supplied by Siverstone
the car is like new / May 03
I can understand how a GT2 must feel like to drive after coming from a Carrera 2 or similar
but having driving the GT3 RS its a joy
the car keeps you focused and at 11pm last night driving down the M6 in the rain you have to concentrate a little bit more
Its an awesome road car an Im so please I bought it
I also have the original wheels with the car

A future classic ???

you think we have it tough over here with cameras and Police
on my long trip back I never passed some many traffic police from Belfast to Dublin !

Tim - nice one!
Is it a 2004 model? Any plans for it - suspension etc. If it's the one from the previous thread, are you getting some Recaros for it. Mine had comfort seats, but I swapped them. It made the car feel much better (altho', I don't have a couple of RS's to play with!)
Enjoy thumbup

Congrats on the purchase. beer

With the condition and low mileage I considered this car myself, only I couldn't get my head around the fact it was a c98 Cyprus/Maltese Car, in case I couldn't move it come trade-in. confused

Enjoy the car and be careful on thise wet roads.

Tim,

You're right in what you say, a c98 car is made in the same factory with the same components as a c16 car, albeit with slightly different security and underbody protection which can always be fitted at a later date.

My only small concern was that I like to change my cars often, and if for any reason I didn't gel with the GT2 then it would have been easier for me to change it through the Porsche Network . IMO as these cars get older, the less irrelevant this will become.

Its a GT2, now get out there and enjoy it... hehe

Mark,

this car is going to be used just for the road
and judging by my trip back yesterday there is enough power in the thing to
to keep me happy ! ( for a week or so )
If I go down the bigger exhaust/ECU/BHP upgrades I will take away from
current road manners it has + Ive had enough of exhaust booms on long Euro journeys
in the RS
In years to come will standard cars be more sought after ?

anyway what a car ... a new Aston DB9 Volante tried to have a go !

frightening how slow those cars are !!!! ( he he )

Cable guy,

I have the Invoice from Siverstone OPC selling to car to a certain person
for 74 K with 700 miles on the clock
It still has a Porsche warranty it drives superbly
a lot of GT3 RS came in from South Africa and Im sure a lot more 997 GT3s
will surface from there

I did get it checked out by an OPC and was told to go for it !

maybe the aircon works better than a UK car ?

anyway like the RSs its the ones you buy which have been Involved in a crash that matters !!!

Tim - not talking about engine mods - think the power is just about ok
Thinking more along the line of geometry and suspension - making it more in-line with the MY2004 cars. JDH1 had my old one, and has recently repurchased it..... Inbetween, it had had the geo set-up done, and he reckons it's made quite a difference to it's 'user-friendlyness'.
