BEN SAUNDERS - FIRST SOLO BRITON TO CONQUER NORTH POLE - SOLO, UNSUPPORTED AND ON-FOOT
"On Sunday April 20th 2003, 25 year-old Ben Saunders became the youngest and first Briton to reach the North Geographic Pole, solo, unsupported and on-foot. Having reached the Pole, Ben is now skiing back to the temporary airstrip he started from on Sunday April 13th, on the Arctic Ocean. He will be back in the UK on Thursday 1st May".
Congratulations
AMAZING! Well done that man! I bet you feel fantastic now.
It's only about 0.00000000001% of your achievement, although some friends and I had an iccle climbing outing last year. We climbed up Ben Nevis, drove to and climbed Scarfell Pike, then immediately did Snowdon straight after. 22 hours with no break. Quite fun, in a bizzare way.
