Audio Upgrade Installation Question!!
Discussion
Hi there,
I am fed up with the 'mediocre' standard audio system, so am having a replacement system including a multimedia headunit installed. I would like to move the position of the headunit and have it ABOVE the main central control panel with the climate control etc on it, as this would give it a more central and raised position and make it easier to see the display. It appears to be one unit, so am hoping that it can be moved down as neccessary?
Has anyone done this, or are there any specific reasons why this cannot be done??
I would appreciate your feedback.

hi Cerby,
If I understand what you want to do corectly, that is swap the positions of the current headunit and a/c panel? If this is what you meant then I'm fairly certain it's not posible with a replacment regular headunit. eg, one which has the electronics in a single din housing to the rear. the main reason it's not posible is because the heater box is right behind the a/c panel so there is not enough depth to accomodate the new unit. The only way that I know this can be done is to use somthing along the lines of Alpines V-Hub system, this houses the main unit in a hide away box and can be linked up to a touch screen which is much slimer and may fit in.
