WSR II........Calling Mr Frost......your cup is waiting.....

confirmed are myself and Jason Weir. This time it's an open invite for people to go.I have no part in the organisation of it because i can't dedicate the time like i did for the last one.
It's a little easier to get to than last time though.Nova Scotia has a major port that is only 2 1/2 hrs from the track. It'll be a little different this time to as there is no spec fuel.Just cruise 20 miles,3 back to back passes within 45 mins of the cruise and away you go.Rules are up at www.canadianfasteststreetcarshootout.com/cgi-bin/yabb21/YaBB.pl.
Next year on race fuel and ET streets i'm shooting for 7.3's or better....

Hello Champ !
Will there be a container organized for "group transport" from the UK,
or are the drivers organizing the transport all on their own ?
All the best from

Hi Benni, thanks for your interest.I priced group transport on the roll on roll off ferry and there was no price difference between that and a single fare. This is for a 8mtr long by 3mtr high truck.Cars will be a lot cheaper to ship but you can't drive them on and off yourself, hence me taking my support truck with the car inside..Containers are cheaper but carry an inherent risk(ie: falling off the boat...)RORO ferries are the best, especially as it goes from Liverpool to Halifax direct in 8 days.Unfortunatly it rather expensive initially, but is offset(for me)because i'll be taking my living accomodation with me...
Slightly O/T, but I hope Redvictor does not mind :
Congrats to your Mickey Thompson sponsorship,
and I think these tires sure are a great help for your WSR
entry.
However, does this mean that a class change is due for UK racing in 07,
or are you changing tires (type, not brand?) between SE and ET ?
Just
curious,
Benni

Thanks Benni,appreciate it....
yea, unbelievably even though the MT ET street radial is perfectly street ,MOT and SVA legal,it was deemed not to be legal for SE......which is as we all know billed as a street legal class! Regretably i'll have to use BFG's when i race in S/E.
Of course i could use the MT sportsman pro but i feel that at the speeds i'm running now and in the future are not conducive to running a bias belted tyre.Unfortunately we(the racers) weren't left with much of a choice of tyres in the rules. The safest tyre(IMO)in the S/E rules for 2007 is the BFG radial.Obviously the safest tyre we could have had was the MT ET street radial.
MT know about the situation anyway and are a lot more interested in what i do outside of the class, and in all honesty so am I....
I'm just thinking ahead to this year really. We have a full calender that will take up most of my weekends including the KOE in Poland which will take a week!I'm certainly looking forward to going out on fresh MT ET street radials and setting new records.
Thanks for your interest Benni....

can i really drive on/drive off a transatlantic ferry like dover calais?
thats gotta cost zillions surely? have you any link at all? ta (dont tell me to try 118118.....)
I did not want to open any cans, do not like worm salad...
Thanks for the quick and complete info.
(Only asked for it here because
Andy did not want to post any more on the "rules" thread.)
Too bad that I cannot be in Poland for the KOE 07,
because of the 19.Grand Nationals on the "Jerry Lackey" raceway @ MZA Luckau.
This is on the same weekend, and I have a job to do at one of the 3(!) races we have.
Will you join the convoy that is planned through france, belgium, germany to poland,
even if traveling with truck?
Cheers,
Benni

As long as the convoy gets to Germany the same time we do then yes. Most UK racers are going Dover/Calais.We're going Harwich/Hook of Holland. On the night boat we can get dinner, sleep, wake up and get breakfast before we start the 1000km drive....

I was only joking Benni.
From what Ive heard there was whole load of politics and toys being thrown out of prams over the new SE tyre ruling.
I dont begin to understand it, but hey, the racers will race.....

There was,but now it's finished for a year...
We'll let the BFG's do the talking this year, they've been in the class for years and are as embedded in the rules as the sportsman pros and pump gas. It'll be a good season.
