It was taking ages to download & I couldn't be bothered to wait but I hope it's even half as good as the original!

According to the Internet Movie Database (www.imdb.com) there is now a character called 'Handsome Rob', perhaps this is the politically correct update to 'Camp Freddie'?

are they going to give us a proper ending this time, or just leave us teetering on the edge again?

God that was annoying. You should never leave a film open for a sequel if you don't then go on to make a sequel. really spoils it IMO. never mind. still quite looking forwards to it.

Read on the weekend (think it could have been Clarkson but not sure) that in the book (didn't even know there was one), Michael Caine gets back with the gold only to have Mr. Bridger tell him hes done a deal with the Mafia and its got to go back to Italy. Shame they didn't use that, sounds like an amusing twist.

I heard that the "Great idea" at the end of the original (Real?) film was to just sit and leave the engine running and wait for the fuel to burn out of the tank which was located at the back of the bus, therefore altering the centre of gravity of the bus enabling the gang to retrieve the gold.
Anybody know different?

It was re-released at the cinema in 1999 so I bet a fair few younger folks have seen it. Anyway, it's on VHS, DVD and BBC every Christmas so there's no excuse!

I saw it last night. I was skeptical about the film initially but was very pleasantly surprised. It ended properly too.
