Hi all

Took the hard top off the car today. This is an important moment once a year and I thought Id share. I came to work with the roof off and to the soundtrack of Mr. Porsches finest 3.4s.

Happy days!

Try this....

1) Undo the rear bolts until you hear them 'pop',
2) Head for the nearest motorway and get to a steady 70mph making sure there's no one behind.
3) Pull red catch above the rear view mirror..
4) Hey presto... open air motoring and no hard top storage problems!

Long may the sun shine... Global warming has its positives!

Surely you aren't encouraging me to contravene the highway code and break the speed limit ? That would be incredibly irresponsible ...

Reminds me of a few years ago when I was selling VWs and a delightful old biddy asked me to install a Britax 3-position pop-up sunroof in her Golf prior to collection. Now said sunroof had a GREEN catch and a RED one. Needless to say she got confused and disengaged the RED catch at some 50mph much to the delight and screeching brakes of the car behind....

Excellent, will have to give this a go. If you see a BMW with a 996 hardtop shaped dent on it's bonnet, you will know that the mark 1 tail gating detterent has been successfully deployed !
