Dashboard Removal

Hello,

Can anyone give me some advice on how to remove the dashboard of my S3, got to replace the veneer. Also roughly the time taken and potential problems.

The trapped bolts under the windscreen are the worst, on mine the trapped bit didn't happen and it just rotated. I think I wedged something between the screen and the dash to hold it in place, after hours of wondering why it would not come undone.

Z are you talking about removing the Dash or just the veneered board ?

The time taken may depend on how much you plan to remove, taking the glove box out makes access easier as well.

If you are removing the centre console be prepared to take a few photos and make notes of the wiring as there are no block connectors!

Keep a good torch, extendable magnet and plasters handy

Thanks guys thats really cleared things up. Maybe. My aim is to get the old 'veneer' off as easily as possible and hopefully replace it with something better, probably a real veneer. Do I need to remove the whole dash to do this or is there a front portion that can be removed to avoid disconecting all the electrics. I think one of the other threads touched on this subject but it wasnt that clear as to how or what.
