Body panels - availability / any reverse engineered?
Discussion
While considering my other current thread www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=365905&f=12&h=0 , it occurred to me has anyone got a list of all panels available that can be made or has anyone reverse engineered any moulds? I know Tet has many, but certainly not all panels for the Wedges but has anyone reverse engineered any others and whats available for other models? It seems sensible that someone (us / TVRCC / ?) should at least have a set of moulds for when the supply runs out. Is there a list anywhere of where any are (again I know some were grabbed from the factory at various times)
So
Please post up where any moulds are with model details
AND, is there anyone who would be prepared to either:
1) Offer their car for mould taking (in my experience doesn't cause any damage - good layer of wax on panel makes release easy)?
2) Able to make the moulds? ( a friend of mine is a boat builder so could ask him)
Post up any you know for future reference.
It also occurs to me - do moulds have a shelf life? If so do new versions need to be remade of existing - the fibreglass 'goes off' over time, I assume the moulds do likewise?

The moulds shouldn't degrade with time but may suffer damage as components are taken off them. It's hard to say how long the moulds would last as it depends on so many factors but you should be able to get plenty of components off a decent mould.
When we were racing the wedge we had a few made
Tasmin 280i S1 front end including bulkhead and footwells
Tasmin 280i s1 Front spoiler
Tasmin 280i s2 Front Spoiler
350i s2 bonnet ( light weight with no internals)
tasmin 280i s2 one piece front end for racing
wedge boot lid ( no internals)
Plus various Tuscan racer moulds...
The quaility doesnt match TET, as they were intended for racing, but they are usable, and we have done a few items for rod cars.
