Can anyone help?

Last weekend I registered on the SportsAlfa website, as I had some questions regarding the GTV, etc.

I registered OK, got an email confirming my registration, telling me that my registration would be approved shortly by an admin.

I'm still waiting

I sent an email earlier this week (maybe Monday/Tuesday) to the 'Contact Us' address - contact@sportsalfa.com and tonight I get a delivery failure - prompting this post.

Can anyone help, as I can't post and can't contact anyone via email!

Yours desperately,

Kinky

Just popped a post on the website with a link to yours here for the attention of the head honcho, Keith. I'm sure he'll come back to you shortly.

Recently there was a spate of total tw@ts logging on as guests and starting loads of threads, or replying in legit threads, with links to porn sites. T'was getting a bit tiresome! I think that might have something to do with it, but wouldn't swear to it.

Ah penny dropping perhaps ...... I wonder if username = "Kinky" and recent spate of porn-related spamming = registration rejected

Looking at the recent member list, there is an awful lot of obvious porno-posters so maybe! I'm sure Keith will sort you out though.. yes

Thanks again Jim. I've seen your post on SA.

On a side-note - where in Surrey are you?

I ask as if you're closeish to me, we have a local PH meeting a week tomorrow. Details here: www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=360618&f=127&h=0

Why don't you try AlfaOwner.com or join AROC!

I used to be a member of AROC and to be quite frank I personally found no benefit from it whatsoever.

And I'm a longstanding AO member.

Fortunately, my registration is now sorted.

Thanks.

Same problem with porn spammers on 155.org. What is it with these guys? Not one of the best imports from the US!

Why only spam Alfa sites? How come nobody spams pistonheads for instance? Maybe these assume the average Alfa owner is only interested in looks.

We've had the same problem with the AROC sites guestbook. I have now changed the set up so that entries have to be approved first.

It's not just Alfa sites, we get the same on cliotrophy (running phpbb)...

Pistonheads is a bespoke piece of software so doesn't suffer from the problems of scripts written to exploit specific forums systems such as phpbb

Glad you're sorted now, and happy to help!

I'm in Ash, nr Guildford. Can't make the 16th but would certainly be interested in future meets - seems quite an active social scene on the TV&S section! beer

It will be making a return soon.

I am sure you have all heard about Keith passing, unfortunately all the data seems lost.

Time for a fresh start
