To answer an earlier question about dogs being allowed onto the PistonFest site: The venue owners allow such events to happen, based around the MSA guidelines & would prefer if owners would not bring their pets onto the site.
However, this is not mandatory because the NSRA Championship or PistonFest are not organinised & governed by the MSA (who do not allow animals at race venues under any circumstances, except guidedogs).
If pet owners must bring animals to the venue, then in accordance with RSPCA guidelines, dogs must wear muzzles, and must be controlled by owners on a lead at all times. If these requests are not adhered to, the animal owners will be requested to leave the track immediately by the venue owners.
Hopefully the above explanation clears up any issues raised, but please feel free to email us if further clarification is required.

What RSPCA guidelines state that dogs need to be muzzled? I've never heard of that...

Ive not hear of that one either by the rspca. So my little cairn terrier ie (toto from wizard of oz) has to have a muzzle.

On a lead at all times, poop bag at the ready. My dogs a real petrol head. he used to come out in the Caterham 7 and could recognise my cars sound before I came home.

Ted could you double check on the muzzle side please. Its a bit like having a speed limiter fitted to every car - just in case you speed. - well sort of.

Hopefully this info will help: when the original question came up, I asked the venue owners what their policy & guidelines were for animals (dogs in particular) & events such as PF. The post at the head of this topic as about as accurate as I can make it without getting it in writing from them. Apparently the reason for these "rules" are taken from guidelines given by both the MSA & the RSPCA (something to do with dogs getting out of control if not on a lead, small children, aggravating noises & "safety of spectators"). The muzzling issue is linked to this also (IMHO a bit extreme, but we do not write the guidelines).
Please don't take any offence at the guidelines given, I am sure they are not meant to be taken personally, but I'm sure you can see their point - they have a "blanket" policy and responsibility to ensure that all participants & spectators enjoy motorsport as safely as possible, and any "unpredictable" actions are kept to a bare minimum and avoided wherever possible.... this may seem a little unfair in your individual case to you, but they are normally unable to make exceptions in such circumstances. If you require further clarification, please email and I'll try to get it in writing from the venue owners.
Absolutely no flame intended.

none taken. Thank you for asking and at least dogs can come along which is more than was expected, just with a muzzle.

Our dog normally has a sulk with a muzzle on and he tends to just sit down and wont move. So i better find a scateboard to put him on,,,,,,,,,

aiming to do some camping with the dog and Mrs Superlightr...
