V8S REBUILD PHOTOS

Hi thought you might like to see some of my rebuild photos. purchased Clappys old V8s from a salvage yard for £2000.it was wirten off after the previous owner had spun spun it, damage was minimal being rear near side trailing arm,wheel,corner of rear near side boot missing and a small crack on the bonnet. it was writen of not because of thie damge but the outriggers were shot to bits by rust so the insuranse would not repair.
I i replaced the near side trailing arm, cut out and welded in new outriggers the full length of the car,seat belt moounts,gaz adjustables shocks,cosworth 4 post cfroont brake calipers with 290ml discs,bushes,fuel tank cradle.the chassis has been painted in 3 coats of por.15 and 5 litres of waxoil.I have rebuilt the body that was missing and removed and smothed out the ruber bumper inserts.It has been fully resprayed with a custom blue/rainbow paint.i have made new wilton carpets,blue suade dash with cream chimera guages fitted with griff switch gear with leven knobs,recoloured griff seats,new hood etc

Well, pimp my ride Very nice, I can see you have an eye for bright colours. Is that mirrorflake on the body? I did that to a motorbike I once owned. Watch those flakes grow when the sun comes out!

Hi, can you please tell me what temprature your heat wrap on your manifolds is rated to? I was going to use 550c rated tape also have you run the cars engine yet? your car looks great will it be finished for this summer? bet you can't wait to use it. cheers

Hi roy i think the temp rate is 550. pig of a job to do as well but was easier with the body off.hopefully the car will be on the road for next month.ive got to paint the bonnet and trim the two roof panels..the engine colour is a custom mix with a bit of this and that but mostly pearl yellow.body colour is a jaguar blue base coat with 50gramms of rainbow flake to two ltrs of laquer with two more ltrs of clear on top.

Thanks. i took the car to Crewe Auto Electrical today for an fuel problem. i cant recomend them enough.all sorted now.it turns out the airflow meter was duff and i fitted it back to front!! ill be taking the car for its mot in two weeks and then for a vic check.ill post some more photos soon.
