G64 Gearbox

Hi there,

Just trying to find the spec of a gearbox I have. It's a 4WD G64 box with the serial code G64003L03499. I am taking the rear drive / clutch ass out and replacing with a mounting plate for the rear support instead.

Can anyone possibly tell me what this box is out of and what the gear ratios are?

Also has anyone else done this? If so how do you get the 'cup' part of the front wheel drive clutch off? Removed the big nut - with a big hammer and Mr. Chisel, but cant seem to get the rest off....

I bought a CD from www.workshopmanuals.co.uk for the 993.
This covers the G64/20 & /21 but not /00

They may be able to help but I suspect they will need you to tell them the model/year.

Will see if I can find out more from one of the gearbox companys.. Think you are right Mr Crafty. It's in excellent condition inside, but it will soon be butchered!
