993 v 996 turbo 911's
Discussion
Is it really worth the extra money for a 996 turbo over the previous 993? I know the new model is probably safer at the extreme limit due to various improvements etc, but the 993's handling might be described as more fun on the public road's in everyday driving. 993 engine sounds gorgeous too! Anyone out there that's driven both? What do you think?
Soz, not driven both only a 996 and my car.
Talking to people who've driven both - the 996 has definitly moved the goal post forward. Not surprising really. I don't think you'll derive anymore enjoyment from the new 996TT though. Its as fast as the 993TT, but has more stablility contraptions. I can say you have to be driving like a complete utter idiot to loose the 993TT, its a very stable car, and I suppose the 996TT would be nigh on impossible to loose.
It really boils down to looks (inside and out) and how much money you have. You can afford the 996TT and don't mined the depreiation you'll loose (compared to a 993TT) then get one. If you not mad about the looks and like the 993TT, then you save a lot of money for a car that'll give you as much enjoyment.
