Thought I better just say hi before I stick up my first post.

Thanks for all your Porsche advice, must admit to lurking for a few weeks now. Well I now have my first Porsche, a C4S, so its about time I came out.

Just enjoying getting to know the car and sorting a few minor issues with the car I knew needed doing. Also going through the mild panic after parting with the cash, and asking myself questions like why am I not paying off a chunk of my mortgage and whats wrong with a Subaru anyway!

Is there much of a Scottish contingent here?

Welcome Chris, 993 or 996 C4S ? either way, they're both great cars.
Don't worry about the money, you've made the leap now, so no turning back.
Just accept you're hooked and it's downhill all the way ...............................

Hello Chris,

Had a 996 C4S myself which was great fun, amazing all round/all weather drive !!
I'm up in Aberdeen, waiting on a new GT3 after being Porscheless for over 3 years !

Welcome to the party. You're highly welcome as long as your car is a manual without Savannah leather...

Thanks for the welcome.

Its a 996 4S, polar silver (not my first choice but growing on me), and metropole blue (I was surprised how black it is). Yes it is a manual. Its lowish spec, just having the rear park assist, big ali pack and xenons, but it has got low miles, 17k.

It comes with the annoying slightly corroded discs with lots of wear left on the pads and discs.

one good way to get rid of the corrosion is to start using the brakes as intended!

Hi Guys,

Good to know you are not all miles away from Pitlochry.

I did take the advice and drive like a mad Italian for 30mins - the Pistonheads cure for rusty brakes. I think it is a daily requirement.
