Saw an orange gt3 997 on the A10 just north of Cambridge yesterday. Anyone on here?

It looked fantastic, although the roll cage "scaffolding" appears very obvious when it's painted orange which detracts from the great lines of the car in my opinion. It draws your eye to the inside of the car, instead of focussing on the external shape.

Does the roll cage have to be the same colour as the car or can it be something less eye-catching like black?

Its supposed to be obvious..its part of the 'look how fast i look ' impression.Porsche have clearly softened up the car from the 996 gt3/rs and made the car more 'user' friendly on a day to day basis..best way to lairy it up a bit to the 'enthusiasts' or more likely to the badge-jockeys is lairy colours.eekBest thing is that the writing on the Sainsburys 'carrier bags will match the roll cage as you load up..

But seriously I'm shocked to hear you've been looking at air cooled cars when you slated them so frequently confused why the change ?

I saw it too, about 1.35pm near Waterbeach barracks, as it went past I just noticed a red Ferrari behind, in its shaddow, it takes some car to out shine a Ferrari clap well done chap.

The main reason is to have something a little rarer that i may get some fun out of.The air cooled cars certainly dont drive anywhere near as well as my 996tt ,but i only use the tt as a weekend toy and a 'quirky' air-cooled runabout may be fun.Finding a perfect car will prove to be difficult however..

David - I was near Waterbeach when I saw it too. Were you in your Porsche or a tractor? Are you heading down to the Ace brekkie on Saturday am?
