I use wheel guard from Chemical Guys. Smells good enough to eat, and does a really good job of protecting the wheels. You don't need to use anything but your car shampoo to clean them, but just make sure you put it on thinly.

Or Klasse AIO/SG if you have it, these combos tend to last as long if not longer than wheel wax products too.
