I have finally finished my garage space under my home. I have two car slips in air-conditioned space besides five other spaces to park cars but not air-conditioned.
My problem is that I moved my Ultima Can Am 720 into one of the air-conditioned spaces and now the gas smell is overwhelming. Does anyone know of a product that eliminates the smell of gas in enclosed not well ventilated areas?

You will find the smell is coming from the fuel pipes. The gas is coming through the wall of the pipe.
Have this with mine and brought a gas analyser home from work thinking I would probe round all the joints till I found the one that was leaking. All the joints were OK but holding the probe against the pipes the meter went off the scale. The reading was even higher than if I held the probe in the filler hole.
There are better fuel lines out there but I don't know any makes but believe them to be PTFE lined.

I get this smell sometimes, but not always.
It makes no difference as to how much fuel is in the tanks either. I have deduced (over two years)that it depends on atmospheric conditions! If the air outside the car is warmer than the fuel tanks, the gas in the tanks expands as it warms up and escapes through the filler vent. If the air outside is cooler, the air in the tanks contracts and hence no smell that day

My garage permanently reeks of petrol since the Can-am's been there. You would have thought a fuel line would be designed to stop the smell of fuel escaping wouldn't you ? What type of line (material) would stop this ?
I remember Ted telling me that when the cars were registered in OZ they had to do the full emissions testing, which also includes testing for evaporative emissions. He hold me that they had to use different hoses (even on the brakes) to get it through.
As for fumes from the tank, the LS engine has provision for evaporative emissions. Ive welded spigots into the alloy section on the fuel fillers - just above where the hose to the tank connects.
A line comes from each side to a T junction - the T goes to a charcoal canister. The tank vents through the charcoal, which captures the vapors.
There is also a connection from the charcoal canister to a purge valve... the other side of the valve goes to manifold vacuum.
One tank has a pressure sensor connected to a second spigot. When the engine is running and the pressure builds up in the tank, the purge valve is opened and manifold vacuum sucks the vapors into the manifold and burns them.
Im sure you could hook up an evaporative system suck as this to a SB, however unless it was FI you'd be wasting your time as there's loads of evaporation from the carb.
