If travelling 'oop north' isn't realistic (which it isn't for me) there's always 'Sunday Street Wars' at the new 1/8 mile Dakota Drag Strip on Smeatharpe Airfield in Devon.
The first 'Street Wars' will be Sunday, June 10th.

It's a kinda RWYB for tuned street cars but pretty much anything seems to be acceptable - check out www.streetnights.com for full details.

I'm going and it would be good to some some other Pistonheaders there too (look for my carbon-black Se7en with the PH logo on the back and the gormless fat-man behind the wheel).

Andy, if you check my profile you'll notice my first ever car was an FD series Victor. I've always loved the shape and it'll be a great pleasure to see you at Smeatharp and check your machine out.

It would have been a perfect place to get some track time when the digger's complete, however, the noise restrictions probably wont allow for stuff that cackles cry

Your ok Brett, as for Besty I am going to have to say no but if you want to show the digger off, no problem.

Hi

Phew , thats a relief...at least I do have an exhaust system (sort of)..lol...well it passed an Mot on it, although he did mention its a little loud

Having been on a Top Fuel team though...its nothing like a NitroMethane engine running on the high side

Mind you , having spent a lot of years working on Top fuel engines, my hearing isnt what it used to be lol, as in those days we didnt use ear defenders (bit sissy for us)

All the best Brett
