temperature sender

Does anyone know a type or part number for the temperature sender for a 1990 400se. Currently even from cold it reads a third up the dial and moves to just below half even when hot. The needle also remains a bit too static when warm irrespective of the conditions for a TVR.

My gauge on 84 350i didn't register at all. Bought a sender from Rimmer Bros, part ref GTR108, everything now ok. Hope this helps.
