Starter Motor fault

Well I can see dozens of posts on starter nmotor problems but I think I have a new one...
problem shows as a "nothing happens" when I turn the key sometimes. I investigated based on the posts I've seen but what I found was the terminal post for the switch supply was loose in the solenoid housing... looked like a loose nut at first but the nut just kept on turning and of course the terminal post was turning in its housing. looks like its a starter motor out jobbie now and hopefully a bench fix with araldite or something, but already I'm thinking "replace motor..."

hi mine has done the same thing when i started the rebuild i noticed that the small wire terminal on the solonoid was loose although he nut and wire is tight.closer inspection reveals a crack in the plastic that holds the terminals and the small one turns a little so i stripped the solonoid down but you cant get at anything so its off to ebay when i get that far

Check your earth points and clean them, including the ones not directly associated with the starter. It is very likely to be an earthing problem.
