Looking for a Noble

Hi all, new to the forum I currently drive a BMW 840, I am currently looking at the M12, is there certain things / tips I need to look for when looking for one, I will have around 30k.

There is lots of advice by reading and searching this Noble forum, but basically you are looking at a good example GTO-3 at that price, or save another £2K - £3K for a GTO-3R.

Try and look for one that has the 6-speed 'box and LSD (most GTO-3Rs have this as standard), with of course regular service intervals and all the paperwork and stamps. Find out as much about the history of the car as possible, do an HPI check, phone the service centre, phone the factory etc and have an inspection done by someone who knows about the cars.

I have started to read through all the posts on here about buying, what are the major differences betweenn the 3 & 3R

I have browsed through that link, the one difference I can see is that the 3R is a 6 speed, am I right in thinking the 3R has leather interior and a cd player?

Very early 3Rs (change around when mine came in - R77 - build Sep-Nov 2003) had a 5-speed box - check this. Other differences on the 3R are the lights and improved soundproofing.

Also uprights changed at some point to accept the renault ball joints rather than the metro ones. These renaults are preferable.

get the 3r.i was in the same boat as you.i didnt want to spend much over £30 grand, other toys to get, but then went all out and put another £6 grand to the noble fund and got a 4000 mile 3r .so glad i did. pic of mine is shit.was the pic of the car when i bought it.great scenery NOT.

No such thing as a bad Noble piccy Tony - even Paul Cundy's looks good and that's been royally chopped up, modded and motored hard!

Come to think of it that photo of the Noble flambe at the bottom of the cliff in SA wasn't too sweet!

Yeah, I think your right about adding to the "Noble fund" to get the right one with all the toys, looks like I will have to stay with my E31 for a few more months, life's not all that bad
