From Trevor Wilkinson's original special built in 1947 to the the last Sagaris to roll off the production line in 2006, TVRs were always fast, always striking and always desirable.

TVR production in Blackpool, and it seems in the UK, has ceased and another Great British Marque joins the likes of MG, Triumph and Singer to name but a few. As long as TVR cars exist they will give pleasure to those who drive or race them or who merely smile as one rumbles by on a sunny afternoon. While there are enthusiasts to look after and preserve them and above all, drive them, there will always be businesses around to supply parts and servicing as well as organisations such as the TVR Car Club to bring enthusiasts together.

Oh, and in the future there may be some foreign cars badge engineered to appear as TVRs; but we who love the marque will know that true TVRs were only ever built in the Lancashire seaside town of Blackpool.

May the Spirit Of Driving live on.

Good talk "tork" but TVR needs customers to survive and looking at your profile you have hardly done your bit to keep the marque alive and well in Blackpool. You car was made before the Russian was born and probably represents an investment of less than £3000. Next you will be complaining about GM

Oh how little you know. Pauls commitment to promoting TVR and TVRCC as the regional organiser for manchester and cheshire region has been considerable over the years. He will be the first to make you welcome on the TVRCC stand at the Tatton park classic car show that he and his wife organises twice a year.
Paul looks like you need to update your profile with a picture of your latest TVR.

How very presumptuous. I live in Provence and my family is on its 17th TVR all bought from the factory direct. My sister however lives in Prestbury so we have bee regular if not frequent TVR car Club visitors for many years and are quite familiar with the local Cheshire region. In fact now we have the Sagaris I keep my Chimaera in Cheshire

Ah, so familiar you don't know the RO of you 'local' region, or what car he drives!

Personally, I agree with Tork@TIV, my view exactly.

Regards,

Chris.

Of course TVR needed customers but pushing the price up £10k because of an initially dodgy home grown engine hardly improved the company's reputation. What it did accomplish was a diminution of their target market. This loss of customer base is what led ultimately to the company going into administration.

I assume that your remark about my not doing my bit refers to a low TVR count. I further assume that your remarks about my car refer to the 350i I used to own. I'm very pleased that you are in the position of affording 17 TVRs over the years, not to mention the Bugatti. Some of us however are working on a limited budget and the purchase of a TVR starts as a dream that is only realised by making sacrifices in other areas. As Regional Organiser of the Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire Region of the TVR Car Club, I am very aware that a high proportion of our membership are in this position.

I'm not sure what you meant by the GM reference but I have to say that it sounds very condescending.

I last visited the car club in September when we collected the car from the factory. I hadn't realised the RO had changed but the comments on this discussion explain a lot. There seems to be an aggresion for some reason towards my comments. I thought this was a discussion forum and all were entitled to their opinion but obviously not. I was obviously unaware that the RO had bought a new car from the current range so that being the case I apologise

These forums are a riot. No matter what the subject/thread, it ends in a slanging match, or at least someone choosing to take offence for a trivial reason. I am rapidly losing interest. I could start one on the subject of what brand of baked beans I prefer to smear on my Griff and within a few minutes be derided as the reason TVR has gone down the plug. SHITE.

I have to admit that I don't recall your visit in September although I do try to talk to as many people as possible at our meetings especially new visitors. Next time you are over here, do please pay us a visit and come and say hi. We'll do all we can to make you welcome. I don't know if you are a TVR Car Club member, but if you are and you would like to be kept up to date with regional activities send me an email and I'll put you on our mailing list.

This is a discussion forum and of course you are entitled to your opinion just as others are entitled to theirs. Things can get a little heated sometimes and I think your remark about my not doing my bit ruffled a few feathers.

There is one thing I need to clear up. I have changed my car but not for a current model. I have wanted a Griffith ever since it was shown at the UK Motor Show in 1991. I realised that particular dream last December and am delighted with my aquisition. For me, there is nowhere to go now. I own my ultimate TVR. driving

We are obviously both TVR enthusiasts and it would be a shame to fall out even though we may hold different views.

Why?
Does he need to explain himself or prove something to a snob.

Some people think their pay packet is enough. Some people, like Paul, give something far more important to the brand. mad

Totally agree, sometimes it's like an episode of East Enders on here, only ever seen about two since it began, but they would always end in someone offended or upset!
Reference, to the beans you mention, are you saying beans are what you use to spread over your Griff? Or are you saying your Ma is better than my Ma?? OUTSIDE NOW!
