Which Coilovers?
Discussion
I had AVO coil overs on the back of my road rally mini for a while. I wasn't impressed TBH - they were too stiff and still bottomed out all the time. I preferred the ride with the original suspension and GAZ adjustables, so switched back after a few months. Maybe some progressive springs might've made it a little better?
if its a proper hillclimb car id go for AVO's as they will be able to do a set to your requirments - you will need to tell them weight of the car. spring rates and lengths that you need, but they are very helpful and knowledgable.
if its a budget job, id go for one of the spax kits - they are designed to be a bit of a jack of all trades, not something id use tbh, but a good starting point.
gaz dont do a coil over kit to suit a mini, they do coil over shocks. most of the 'kits' are gaz shocks (which are very good) and cheap springs - which provide a rubbish ride - do a search on any mini forum and the same problems are mentioned about the quality of these kits.
