Just in the process of buying a under 2000 miler GT3 RS (996) its a 2003 53 , the warranty will of course need re-newing , is it best to go direct to porsche or can indies offer similar servies (such as Strasse near me) , i just worry porsche will "make up" a list of thing that need fixing although they dont , bloody stealers.

I would also like to get the car imspected by them , simple process?

is it the Strasse car?

to renew if it is out of warranty will mean a 111 point check by Porsche, doubt they'll find anything wrong with it?

In terms of inspection I would only trust someone like JZ Machtech (Steve McHale) or Parr, as they know their GT3's inside out.

You will need to get the car thoroughly inspected underneath for signs of an accident, unless you are 200% sure the PO is honest with you.

Good luck, I have just done the same!

The OPC inspection should be easily passed and you can then buy the OPC warranty (no other is anywhere as near as good for the money). However, they will not pay the slightest bit of attention as to cosmetic condition, whether it has had previous accident damage or poor paintwork, so if this is a concern get someone else to check it. Try Peter Morgan www.petermorgan.org they only inpsect Porsches and work mobile, usually within 2-3 days.

I had Peter Morgan inspect my car. Not cheap, but worth it for peace of mind. He phoned and gave me a verbal report, then he e-mailed me the written report and then got the paper version in the post. He is happy for you to call him up and ask stupid questions too

Not cheap, but mobile and specific to the marque. You could pay the AA (who contract it out these days) or the RAC £350 and get one of their generally good but "jack of all cars" guys do it. Better to pay similar money to someone specialised. An inspection that finds items is one thing, one that indicates how normal these items are for that model and giving a prognosis/estimate to rectify is another - and far more valuable.
