Why hasnt this had a single sniff ?

I know the ads not that great, but these normally start at £85ish and mostly seem to make £130 plus.

Hmm?! scratchchin

Yes not a particularly piece of clear info - cf. the max aperture listed as f1.4!!

But I wonder if it's not a "D" spec lens. It certainly doesn't say so. Did they make them pre-D?

Other than that - no idea.

Because its a rubbish advert!!

The details are wrong, (its not a 1.4)

It doesnt even tell you what it is!

And finally, the numpty has spelt Lens with a E on the end (lense) so it will not be coming up in the correct searches.

If it's the Nikon ED AF Nikkor 70-300 1:4-5.6 D

Then snap his hands off for that (or twice the) price. 'Tis a great lens.

edited to add... just read the whole ad. It sounds like he knows nothing about lenses, or what he has. If you can confirm that it's the above, I'd grab it!

I'm certainly not buying the camera or lens the seller took these pics with! laugh

Be careful with buying a 2nd hand lens from a seller who doesn't have a clue about it. I've had one bad experience on ebay and that was enough to put me off doing it ever again.

As above - there's a killing to be made if it's the right lens. Buying cheap on ebay is a combination of being wary of every deal, and looking for items that either finish at odd times or are listed incorrectly (as in this case). That said send them an email asking for confirmation on the spec and requesting Royal Mail Special next day delivery. The only way the post office will offer insurance cover for glass items. Plus seller gets a tracking number, which is needed by paypal if they need to claim.

It's a G lens. Check out http://fficial%26sa%3DG">www.adorama.com/NKHB26.html&h=">www.adorama.com/images/Product/NKHB26.jpg&imgrefurl=http://fficial%26sa%3DG">www.adorama.com/NKHB26.html&h=">G-lens replacement hood.

Doesn't the ED lens use a (don't know the right word) scalloped lens hood?

If it is the G it's OK but not great. I'd e mail the seller.
