I'm upgrading my 1300 Hillclimb/sprint Mini from the 5" GB alloys and Yoko A032R's to 6" alloys with Dunlop Racing 160/490 - 10's.I would have liked to go the Spectrum/MB 7" rim route but can't justify the £500+ investment.
I see Midland wheels on e-bay have Revolution 6x10's at £125 a set inc. bolts and delivery which is tempting but they won't 'guarantee' them for competition and I suspect they are made in China.
Any comments/advice/offers etc gratefully received.
As far as i know the newer type of revolutions with the wide "chavvy" polished outer rim have a diferant ofset to the early ones -beware.
How about a set of these *** on a plate.

dont forget that those cheapo 6x10 revos have a really thick inner rim - this makes it very hard to get normal road tyres on them, i guess that getting comp tyres with thicker sidewalls even harder if not impossible
they also have a terrible off set, more tailored to the 'looks good innit?' type rather than a motorsport application. i still remember the adverts that revo used to run showing a set of the copy ones that had fallen to bits on a car - not good on a flat out hill climber!
if you want a cheap 6x10 wheel, use a minator, they take comp tyres easily, and are well up to the job - someone i race with uses them, and has run both hosiers and avons (which are the most evil tyre ever to fit to a 10" rim due to their sidewalls)
if your budget is bigger than mine - get a couple of sets of carls force split rims - very nice wheels, very nice bloke!

The above shows all of Force Racings amazing products including the wheels .
I had a set of Force 2 piece rims, look very nice, were 7" wide and are very well put together, they aren't as light as they could be but are very good tyre brackets. My old JA Pearce mags were about 1/2 of their weight.....
I'd go with a set of Jap's if you can find them
Here's a pic of one of my old 6.5x10's
Had a perfect set which went up in my shed fire. They are also made of a slightly more resiliant alloy than mag minilites.

If you are going to run Dunlop D15's make sure the wheels you buy have the correct offset otherwise you will find that the rears rub on the dampers. I tried these tyres on 6 x 10 minilites with super minifins and they did rub on the dampers. If you go for MB's you will need 3.5 inner rim to clear the damper with a 2.5 outer rim.
Hello men, i have just been alerted to this thread by cone, thanks richard,

Gareth,
I'm sure Carl will reply , but in conversation with him last week that is exactly what he can do. He machines off the front rim of the Mini Special wheel , drills for (32?) screw/bolts and fixes on a new rim to make the 7" wide version.
Luckily I have a set in the garage and providing they are suitable for conversion I will post a pic when complete.
For information in this thread, yes i do remove the outer rim section and bolt on a spun outer using 24 no m6 cap screws.
also as Guru, says we had a small techical get together, namly he and i having a look at the minispares centre minilife wheels in 10" and i am 100% confident i can convert these also,
this bring the total now to three wheel types,
the rover minispecial,
Cobra supaslot, and the minilife. i really need to get my act together and visit some mini shows to pick out possible candidates for the chop so to speek,
