Kayc's rant on a thread about dealers spread inspired me to think of this.

I would say this but.....we should start trying to trade our cars like futures. For instance, I would sell my GT3 in 7 months from March for -5.5 from list. The buyer and seller agree a maximum amount of use and as long as the car has no accidents and is in the condition pre determined, the sale has to go ahead in 7 months. Obviously in that time they might make loads and the car is worth a bit less on the other hand everyone might catch onto the GT3 thing and you can only get them for 2 k off of list in 7 months.....

We could go even deeper and start spreading our cars if someone you know has a better car or worse that you might like to own one day.

This may unhinge the dealers prices.

Right thats it, im opening a site can anyone help meconfused......

It may already exist?

Good idea - extending this a bit further how much for a call option on a 911 GT3, maturing in 7 months with Strike at list minus £5.5k. I'd also be keen in buying a put option on a 2006 911 C4S maturing in 7 months time struck at list minus £15k

How about an old version of 'Ker Plunk' instead.........

This is like Noel Edmond's 'Swap Swap', without the dodgy beard / jumpers...............

That's a horrible thing to say about 993 owners.

I love it, the 3 who reply and they know more about what I do than I do(not hard though really)confused

Sidicks, id say about £500 for that call option pal.

Clubsport, now i know you know your stuff inside out and I'm waiting for you to show me.

Delta, if i spent half the time that of what i do on PH or wondering where certain cars are going and actually thought about trading id be a very very wealthy man.

Sorry but some of you guys must be financed up to the hilt if you're that worried about losing £10k/£25k on a 997GT3 over 1/3yrs. No-one likes to lose money but that's new cars for you and it's your choice...Buy a 5yr old 911, then you wouldn't have anything like the same worries.

The car market is distorted enough with many people buying the latest £80k cars they can only afford by moving on after 3 months, to escape any depreciation. Probably bought by remortgaging their house.
