Small Amp for Boot

I'm looking to replace the awful Pioneer 6x9s one of the pervious owners and have been thinking about getting the new speakers amped up to give them a decent amount of power.

Wiring won't be too difficult, as the battery is in the boot, so just need the signal from the head unit which shouldn't be too bad.

What I'm wondering however is whether I can get a small amp that would fit underneath the recess at the top of the boot behind the bootlid or in some other out of the way spot...

I've got a great big 4.1 channel Alpine amplifier sitting in the garage that I could use, but boot space would be severely restricted, so something hidden out of the way seems the way to go.

This might sound like a bit of an oddball suggestion but you could make your own amp (there's plan on the internet I imagine - I've just built a headphone amp from scratch and it sounds superb). Or maybe you could investigate reboxing your alpine amp.

Could be mate, although (not being rude) it depends upon what it is, as I've plumped for MB Quart speakers for the front now and may do the same for the rear 6x9s (although I might just use the Infinity Kappas I already have) so want to ensure they are driven well.

Dern - That sounds a lot of work to be honest and I'd be worried that the sound quality and interference supression wouldn't be up to the job. I think selling the Alpine amp is the way forward, as it was something like £350 I'm looking to recoup that for the replacement amp and put something towards a new head unit.

You'd be amazed how much I can hear these days, life is blissful in the S compared to the Cerb, even with the roof down

Still need enough power to the speakers to hear something over the wind nise though.
