ok, so sifting through autotrader, as you do, found this

http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/www/

fully specced cayenne for £17,900.00 thought it looked a bit cheap, but couldnt resist, so I email the guy and get the reply below.

Hello,

Sorry for taking so long getting back to you.I already have tons of emails so I hope you understand that I need to sort them out.

The 2003 53 Reg PORSCHE CAYENNE Tiptronic V8 4.5 S (RIGHT HAND DRIVE) , 33,500 miles ,2 owners from new,is 100% working and looking AMAIZING,is like new ,in perfect condition, accident free, no scratches, no special marks, no need for additional repairs what so ever,no engine problems and it has been garaged most of the time.I will include all receipts/paperwork along with the car.

As you've seen in the ad the price is £17,900 and it includes all the taxes.THIS IS MY LAST PRICE.I will not negotiate the price. Also,I only take in consideration those buyers who are really interested in buying the car,to be sure that I don`t spend my time with endless discussions. This way,I shall be assured of the serious intentions.

The car is in Spain and it will be delivered from here to your address and the shipping costs will be paid by me.Since this is the first time when i am selling a car overseas , I want this transaction to be smooth enough as I am caught in the middle of some very important events and have little time at my disposal . Because of this , I have hired a company here to take care of everything on my behalf . The car is already in their warehouse . It is already crated,of course, after their certified inspectors have checked everything and the most important, all its documents ! Regarding shipping and payment process I'd like to use the shipping company's services as I've already paid them to take care of everything. If you are ok to move forward with this ,get back to me and i will let you know all the details. This being said,i am sure that we can have a smooth and good deal.

Thank you,
Platt

shall we have a little fun with him?

I will if you will! We might be able to have an auction, but being as it doen't exist he'll probably just try to sell it twice. Have you tried asking for the chassis number?

Hi There,

After my first car, which was a 911, ive been hooked on all things Porsche and the land rover I have is getting a bit old so if the vehicle is as you state in the advert I see no problem with the asking price.

Can you send me the chassis number.

Tks

lets see what he says :P

I contacted a supposed seller about a similar ad a year or two ago - a Cayenne Turbo that seemed very cheap at the time. Seller gave me a VIN and it came up on a UK data search (Experian), was on finance though. That's not a problem of course, but he didn't reply when I said I'd collect the car from the port and pay the finance company and him at that time. Seemed it wasn't for real, but worth an email or two just in case.....

Tell the b3gger that you are currently in Spain on vacation. You'd like to pick it up straight away and drive it home. Offers lots of opportunity to make up dates and times and places and then move them again...hehe

He's given himself an 'out' by saying first come first served .. If you make an arrangement with him to view the car he'll tell you it's been sold.. 'velly solly'.. just before your meeting.

You could say you're interested enough to pay him a premium if he'll hold it til you see it .. Watch him squirm!!

emailfrombloke said:

Hello,

The car has had 2 services @ Porsche just had a recent service, the 1st service was at Porsche Wilmslow @ 18426, the 2nd @ 33409 @ Wilmslow .

Regarding the shipping and payment process I'd like to use the shipping company's services as I've already paid them to take care of everything. The shipping company will act as the third party and will hold the payment into their account until the car will be delieverd and inspected by the buyer, at the delivery address. The delivery will be done only after the payment has been checked and the funds will be forward to the seller after the buyer agreeds to do it. In case the buyer doesn't agree to buy the car, the payment will be refunded in maximum 72 hours into the buyer's account. Please check with the shipping company at www.cantabriashipping.com. They do have a live help operator there and contact details and they will help you with the info you need. Just ask about my car which is there, in their warehouse.Ask them also about the shipping and payment terms, as I will only use their services and I will accept the payment to be done directly to their account. The shipping, handling and escrow fees will be covered by me.

Let me know,

Platt

now, I called wilmslow, who confirmed the above being correct.

obviously I aint going to buy the car just wasting this tools time, becuase its obviously a fraud.

Scouser's Porsche VIN decoder (linked to Renntech) says that this is not a valid VIN. I assume it does Cayennes (anyone with a valid VIN can check it here).

See what the 'seller' has to say about that...

The website is very real. The domain name however was registered on Jan 5th 2007.
